The RVTAA Tech Finder
If we’re not in your area, you can find a tech with a confirmed level of knowledge at the RVTAA Tech Locator.
There are three tiers of technicians listed:
- At the entry level, Registered Technicians must complete the NRVTA‘s Fundamentals course and pass a fundamental knowledge test administered by RVTAA. A Registered Tech may be just as capable as any Master Technician depending on their level of experience, but they have not proven a higher level of skill and knowledge to the RVTAA.
- RV Tech 4 U’s current tier, Certified Technicians must complete the NRVTA‘s Fundamentals and Advanced courses, pass skills demonstrations in several areas (ACs, refrigerators, water heaters, furnaces, hydraulics, exteriors, etc), and pass an advanced knowledge test administered by RVTAA. A Certified Tech has proven a significantly higher level of skill and knowledge to the RVTAA than a Registered Tech.
- The highest tier is the Master Technician, who must start as a Certified Technician, take additional courses (generators, solar systems, and yearly continuing education), and pass skills demonstrations and tests for them. A Certified Tech is only eligible to become a Master Tech after three years of active work in the field and must pass the test battery with a near perfect score.
In addition to these tiers, the Tech Locator can also search for specialty certifications such as solar systems and generators.
